Diya - Illuminating Lives Diya is a registered social welfare outfit based in Chennai, India. Diya was formed in 2004 by a bunch of students to unite socially conscious people from around us, and strive towards improving the quality of life for the underprivileged. What is Diya doing at the moment?Pozhichalur Tuition CenterA couple of months earlier, Diya had gone on a fund-raising drive to finance a major renovation work at the Pozhichalur Tuition Center. Our efforts met with an outstanding response from our member community, and we managed to raise a significant sum of Rs.45,000 in a matter of weeks. Construction of the new tuition center started a month ago and is fast nearing completion. The bulk of the expense is borne by Diya, and the rest is being raised from Pozhichalur's local community.
